When his master went missing, he and Kogorou set out to track him down—a search that eventually led them to a small town where they ran into Ryouma. Things got tense fast. He confronted Ryouma over how he'd gotten hold of Shouin's guitar, and the two clashed pretty hard. Eventually, though, the three of them ended up forming a band together, with him on bass.
He's got a reputation for being short-tempered and cynical, and he swears constantly. But beneath all that gruff exterior, he's genuinely devoted to his friends and especially to finding his master. Ryouma started calling him "Cindy" as a joke because he thought his actual name sounded too refined—something that really gets under his skin.
