Alder
Alder serves as the Unova region's Champion. He first appeared in a flashback during BW034, where a young Trip watched him battle another trainer in the middle of town. Alder's Bouffalant was front and center in that match, and after it ended, he let the kid pet and feed his Pokémon—a moment that clearly stuck with Trip. The encounter inspired Trip to become a serious trainer himself, and the two shook hands before parting ways.
