Yotsuba's adoptive father. Nobody really knows the full story of how he ended up raising her—he's mentioned to Fuuka that he kind of just ended up taking care of her while he was overseas, but he's never gone into detail about it. He's the first to admit Yotsuba's weird, though he's got his own quirky side too.
He works as a translator from home, though what he actually translates is anyone's guess. As a parent, he's pretty laid-back—sometimes aggressively so. During summer he basically lives in an undershirt and boxers while working, and he'll apologize unprompted about being irresponsible. Despite all that, he genuinely tries to be a good dad to her, even if his methods are unconventional.
