Taki was one of the orphans raised by Toyo, making him Bat's adoptive younger brother. He left the village on a desperate mission to find someone who could drill a well for them—a crucial task in their harsh environment. The journey took a brutal toll; he wandered so long under the relentless sun that he went partially blind and nearly fell to his death before Kenshiro caught him.
Later, Taki stumbles into Oasis where he reunites with Kenshiro, Bat, and Lin. He heads back to Toyo's village with them, but can't resist sneaking out one night to steal water from a neighboring settlement. Kenshiro realizes what's happened and rushes after him, but arrives too late—a thug kills Taki with a crossbow before he can intervene.
