Ventus
Guardian Bakugan: Storm Skyress, Master Ingram, Hawktor, Taylean
Age: 13 (Battle Brawlers), 16 (New Vestroia), 17 (Gundalian Invaders), 18 (Mechtanium Surge)
Shun Kazami is the strong, quiet type—a loner who rarely speaks but drops everything to help his friends. He and Dan invented Bakugan's rules together, and he plays with the calculated precision of a ninja warrior, which makes sense given his training from his grandfather. He commands Ventus attribute Bakugan and approaches every battle with laser focus.
He lives in the countryside and started as the top-ranked battler before losing ground when his grandfather wouldn't let him play—a rule that came down after his mother slipped into a coma. Once she eventually passed away, his grandfather did let him brawl again, though the loss deeply marked him. He eventually ranked third overall.
In the original series, Shun wore a black shirt with purple triangular backing and black pants, his dark hair pulled back in a ponytail. By New Vestroia, he'd ditched the ponytail for a shorter cut and switched to a sleek all-black outfit with a long green vest when back on Earth. His look evolved again in Gundalian Invaders with a green ninja-style shirt and purple-gold trim, then shifted to lighter greens and tans by Mechtanium Surge.
Despite his reserved nature, fans have long shipped him with Alice, though he showed genuine interest in Julie Makimoto throughout the series. He's one of the calmest fighters around—rarely flustered, never panicked, and always in control.
When a mysterious portal sent him to New Vestroia during ninja training, Shun met Ingram and immediately joined the Resistance against the Vexos. He arrived just in time to help Dan and quickly became essential to their cause. Later, he was the first to see through Ren's lies about the Gundalian-Neathian conflict and worked with Fabia to expose the truth.
By Mechtanium Surge, Shun had dropped to fourth-strongest in Bakugan Interspace, mostly because he's been focused more on his ninja training than battling. He partners with Hawktor and later Taylean. He's picked up on Dan hiding something with Drago and, alongside Marucho, figured out that Dan is deliberately holding back Drago's power—though neither knows why. He's uneasy about it, sensing that whatever's going on could destroy them all if left unchecked.
