When Dara finally clued her in about the mountain's secrets, she was warned that spilling the information would curse her. Chiyo took that threat deadly seriously—so seriously that she never found out the curse is just annoying mouth sores that hurt like hell when you try to talk. Not exactly the cosmic punishment she'd imagined.
