Hyrince
Second son of Duke Quarto of the Analeit Kingdom. He's been Julius' closest friend since they were kids, and serves as the party's shield knight—basically his whole thing is keeping the Hero alive, which he takes pretty seriously.
He's not winning any etiquette awards. Hyrince can be blunt and doesn't bother with pleasantries, but he genuinely cares about the people fighting alongside him. Fans often note that despite his rough edges, he's solid when it counts. He's also the type who keeps morale up—the kind of guy who makes long journeys feel less exhausting just by being there.
