Wang Lingjiao started out as a maid in the household of Wen Chao's principal wife, but eventually became his lover. She's remembered mainly for her arrogance—despite owing her elevated position entirely to her relationship with Wen Chao, she carried herself with an almost insufferable sense of superiority.
