He moved next door to Tsubasa when he was seven, and things got competitive fast. Consumed by rivalry, he'd chase after whatever sport Tsubasa picked up, only to lose every single time. Despite all that hostility, though, he had a softer side—he cried harder than anyone when Tsubasa got into an accident. Eventually his father's work took him to America, and he left Japan behind.
