Kirishima Mai goes by Shirley in Gun Gale Online, where she's best known as a supporting character in the GGO spin-off series. In real life, she works as a nature guide and hunter based in Hokkaido. Her colleagues actually got her into GGO—they figured the game would help sharpen her real-world hunting skills, and apparently they were onto something. She joined the Northern Country Hunters Club, or KKHC, the guild her fellow hunters had set up in the game, and spent most of her time there running monster hunts with the group. When the second Squad Jam rolled around after the 2026 winter hunting season wrapped up, Mai was reluctant but ended up joining the tournament anyway, competing alongside whichever hunters from her crew could make it that day.
