A cosmic marshal arrived on Earth on what seemed like a routine assignment. Her job wasn't to destroy the planet—that task belonged to someone else, due to arrive in five hundred years. Instead, she was here to evaluate it. When her successor finally showed up to carry out their destructive mission, would they find Earth worth destroying? Or had this land—torn apart by endless conflict between swords, spirit, and curse—already proven itself worthless?
That's the premise hanging over her existence. As a marshal in direct service to the Will of the Cosmos, she wielded authority to punish on its behalf. But punishment and destruction aren't the same thing. Her role was to observe, assess, and report back.
The question of what she'd actually find, and what she'd decide to do about it, drives everything that follows.
