Dan Kouzo is the leader of the Awesome Ones and a main protagonist of Bakugan Battle Planet. His primary partner is Pyrus Dragonoid (Drago for short), with Cyndeous and Kellion rounding out his roster.
Dan lives in Los Volmos with Wynton Styles, Lia Venegas, and Lightning the dog—together they run the Awesome Ones, a group that films videos for ViewTube. Twelve years after the Great Collision, the crew snuck into a restricted area of Pinpoint Park to shoot content celebrating the anniversary. While they were throwing Dan a surprise birthday party in the crater left by the Collision, the second Great Collision hit. It was then that Dan and the others experienced the Hide Matrix for the first time and met their Bakugan partners.
From there, the Awesome Ones basically became a channel documenting their journey. Dan, Wynton, Lia, and Lightning—along with their Bakugan Drago, Trox, Gorthion, and Howlkor—spent their time training and experimenting with BakuCores. Through all that experimentation, Dan and Drago figured out what these cores could actually do, and they shared their discoveries with viewers. It became their whole thing.
