Pickle is a prehistoric humanoid—literally fossilized and preserved in a saline rock formation, which is how he earned his name. He's supposedly from the Jurassic or Cretaceous era, and gets revived from suspended animation during Baki 10.5. After single-handedly dismantling entire army battalions and destroying a high-tech exo-skeletal suit, Strydum arranges to have him sent to Japan.
He doesn't look like any known primitive human species—not Neanderthal, not Cro-Magnon, definitely not modern humans. Pickle towers over Jack Hammer and carries muscle density on par with Oliva. His most distinctive features are oversized canines top and bottom, giving him a distinctly fanged look, plus claws where fingernails should be. The guy is basically a tank: his abdominal muscles are dense enough to stop three 9mm rounds at point-blank range without penetration. He apparently thought the person shooting him was just playing some kind of rough game.
In his original era, Pickle hunted and killed T-Rexes with nothing but his bare hands—no weapons needed. He's arguably one of the most openly superhuman characters in the entire manga, which is saying something given the cast.
