Shinobu is a private investigator and magical girl whose whole life has basically revolved around mystery solving. As a kid, she was obsessed with detective fiction—constantly watching detective anime, reading mystery manga, and diving into her dad's collection of mystery novels. That passion never really went away.
Her magical ability is pretty unique: she can communicate with buildings. The trick is she has to kiss a building's wall to do it, and the building will share whatever secrets it's picked up over the years—though it won't spill anything that could get its owner in legal trouble. It's a handy skill for someone in her line of work.
When she's in magical girl form, she goes by Detec Bell and dresses the part: deerstalker hat and magnifying glass, basically leaning into every detective cliché you can think of. The outfit works though.
In the digital world, Shinobu leads a party called Team Bell alongside three other members: Lapis Lazuline, Cherna Mouse, and Melville. She's the one calling the shots there.
