Baku is the Designer Child hosting the Planetary Gear Bugbear. He's the last member to join the group and the sixth to be awakened.
Baku tends to keep to himself, only opening up to people he's close with. He develops a deep attachment to Kumiko Asanoda, viewing her as his savior—the person who gave his life meaning after being sold into slavery. His feelings for her seem to go beyond gratitude, and he's willing to throw down with Yakuza higher-ups if it means keeping her safe. He pushes himself hard in training, driven by the need to be strong enough to protect her no matter what.
What sets him apart from the other Planetary Gears is that he actively rejected his past memories. He only reconnects with the group after losing Kumiko, and grief is what brings him back.
Combat-wise, Baku is among the series' strongest fighters. He's got physical stats way above human baseline and was an undefeated champion in underground fighting rings—taking on armed opponents and winning with nothing but his fists. He hits hard enough to send larger opponents flying, and he can apparently hold his own against Amara in a straight fight. When his emotions spike, he can actually cause spatial disturbances that trigger earthquakes.
His Singularity lets him restore things to their original state—a torn photo, a scattered deck of cards. The catch is he can't choose what gets fixed. He can extend this to people too, reviving them as ghost-like versions that regenerate instantly if damaged. The downside: once the power wears off, they vanish completely.
As for Bugbear's actual abilities, not much has surfaced beyond the fact that he used to spar with Amarok on equal footing.
