Bobo first shows up when Natsu and Lucy need a ride to Galuna Island. He's not interested at first, but once he realizes they're actual mages, he changes his tune and agrees to help. On the way there, he fills them in on the curse hanging over the island—warning Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy about what they're walking into. Right when they get close enough to see the place, though, he suddenly vanishes without explanation.
