She's one of the kunoichi students at the Ninjutsu Academy who originally appeared only in the anime before the manga caught up and included her too. Pretty much the voice of reason in her group—fans often note that she's got her head on straight compared to some of the other girls in her class, which makes her the perfect person to react with exasperation when things get weird or chaotic around her.
