Bit-beast: Wolborg
Tala is a Russian beyblader introduced as someone obsessed with power—though that obsession comes with a dark backstory. Boris and his Biovolt scientists conducted experiments on him to enhance his blading abilities, implanting components and programming directly into his brain. The result was severe: his brain waves destabilized during matches, especially his bout against Tyson, leaving him visibly unhinged. The goal was to artificially connect him with his bit-beast, though despite what the English dub suggested, he wasn't technically turned into a cyborg. Either way, the experiment cost him big—he lost to Tyson and took Biovolt's shot at world domination with him.
By Season 3 (G-Revolution), Tala's still leading the Demolition Boys alongside Spencer, Bryan, and Kai, though he's less consistently dominant than Kai himself. He struggles against opponents like Rick and Daichi, but remains a serious threat. His main friction with Kai stems from the guy's refusal to play team player, especially when Kai started developing Dranzer independently.
Personality-wise, Tala's a walking contradiction. He was supposedly trained to suppress all emotion—Biovolt even claimed they'd perfected him into an emotionless machine for tactical reasons—but he's easily set off and has a fiery competitive streak. The experiment ultimately failed; after the World Championships Final, he's shown shaking hands with Tyson, proving he never lost his humanity. In the manga, he's portrayed as a natural leader willing to do whatever it takes to win, and far less devoted to Boris than the anime version.
The manga explores his rough childhood in detail: his father was a soldier who fell into alcoholism and abuse after losing his rank, while his mother eventually abandoned him. Tala survived by stealing food and money, which is how he met Bryan. That desperation shaped who he became.
His signature beyblades have evolved throughout the series—Wolborg (Blizzalog attack), Wolborg 2 (Botalog), Wolborg 3 (Icy Blizzard), Wolborg 4 G (Novae Rog), and Wolborg Metal Snow in HMS format (Snow Meteor attack).
