Stepper (known as Side Swipe in English) is a green Autobot who's best known for being enthusiastic, impulsive, and—let's be honest—not the sharpest tool in the shed. He acts before he thinks, gets emotionally attached to commanders way too quickly, and has a real talent for creating chaos. Still, Optimus Prime sees potential in him somewhere, convinced that Stepper's got what it takes to become a solid soldier down the line.
What's interesting is that beneath all that recklessness, Stepper actually has some legitimate skills. He's a capable codebreaker and has proven useful on several occasions by deciphering Decepticon data—turns out there's more going on upstairs than his impulsive behavior would suggest.
His Minicon partner is Chear (Nightbeat in English versions), who honestly doesn't help matters. If anything, Chear actively encourages Stepper's chaotic tendencies rather than reining him in.
