Izetta is the series' main character and childhood friend of Princess Finé. Before the war breaks out, she's been traveling from country to country with her grandmother, trying to hide the fact that she's a witch. All that moving around made her pretty withdrawn and self-conscious about who she really is. Once the conflict starts, though, she commits fully to protecting Finé and their kingdom of Eylstadt—and finally stops hiding her powers.
Her magic revolves around taking objects and weaponizing them, turning regular items into tools powerful enough to take down tanks. The catch is that ley lines are essential to her magic working properly, so depending on where she is, she can't always rely on having her full strength available. She typically rides an anti-tank rifle instead of a traditional broomstick, though she's flexible—medieval lances, any rod-shaped object really, work in a pinch.
