Sakura appears in the final episode of the anime as a girl from the country Kino visits. She's basically Kino's counterpart in a lot of ways—most notably, her parents also run an inn, mirroring Kino's own family background.
The English dub actually renamed her to Lily, which was a deliberate choice to make a wordplay joke work in English. In the original Japanese, her name can be pronounced in ways that sound like insults ("mekura" meaning ignorant, "dokura" meaning poison), which the other kids use to tease her. The English version swapped this out for "Silly Willy" instead, keeping the spirit of the joke intact even if the specifics had to change.
