Tsumugi comes across as refined and polite on the surface, but she's got a sharp tongue and won't hold back when she has something to say. She's drawn to traditional Japanese culture—you'll find her playing shamisen or wearing kimonos—but that composed exterior hides someone who gets flustered pretty easily. She has a tendency to jump to the worst possible conclusion, which got her into trouble during the Melty Fantasia event when she, Mizuki, and Shiho were convinced the Producer had cast them as androids because he saw them as cold and stiff. (It wasn't true, but Shiho wasn't happy about it.) Usually though, once someone clears up her misconceptions, she comes around.
The Producer found her at the kimono shop her family runs when he stopped by to return some rental clothes. She didn't seem all that interested at first, but she showed up to an audition anyway—and that's when she admitted she'd actually dreamed of being an idol when she was younger.
