Ira Takuto dies young from illness—but wakes up in a forest instead of staying dead. He's greeted by Atou, a girl who looks exactly like a character from his favorite real-time strategy game, Eternal Nations.
Before dying, Takuto had become something of a legend in the Eternal Nations community. His claim to fame was beating the entire game on maximum difficulty using Mynoghra, the game's hardest faction—an evil-aligned civilization literally called "the civilization of Ruin." That's no small feat.
Atou is a Hero Unit from that same civilization, and here's where things get weird: she remembers playing with him. She doesn't understand where they are now, but the memories are real to her. They decide the obvious thing—rebuild Mynoghra from scratch in this new world, whatever it is.
