Hippie
A minor character from the episode "Wake Up, Snorlax!" who's best known for owning the Snorlax that was accidentally starving out an entire town.
The hippie first encounters Ash's group while they're traveling and plays his Poké Flute for them—a gesture they appreciate. He also plays for Team Rocket, though they don't really get it. When Ash and friends realize that the town's crops have stopped growing because a massive Snorlax is blocking the water supply, they track down the hippie to figure out what's going on. Turns out it's his Pokémon. Once he understands the situation affecting the nearby town, he plays the Poké Flute again to wake Snorlax up and solve the problem.
In the original Japanese version, he's simply called an old man rather than being given the "hippie" label.
