Kazemaru started out in the track club before Endo basically recruited him into soccer. The team desperately needed four more players to avoid getting shut down, and Endo's desperation won out—though Kazemaru admits the real draw was the chance to test himself against stronger opponents. He bought in.
Things got messy during the Aliea Academy arc. Kazemaru got caught up chasing raw power, and when he felt he wasn't strong enough, he just. left. It devastated Endo—the guy couldn't even look at a soccer ball for a while. But after the whole Aliea meteorite possession thing went down and got sorted out, Kazemaru made his way back to the team.
His signature moves shifted over time. Early on he had Shippuu Dash and could pull off Honoo no Kazamidori with Gouenji. During his time under Aliea's influence, he leaned on Bunshin Defense and teamed up for Triple Boost (alongside Kurimatsu and Shishido) and Dark Phoenix (with Someoka and Max). Once he got back on track, his arsenal expanded to include Banana Shoot, Fuujin no Mai, Tatsumaki Otoshi with Kabeyama, and The Hurricane alongside Fubuki. Later he added Spinning Fence to his playbook.
