Iwao Shimabukuro is a former featherweight boxer from Okinawa who trained at the Okinawa Seaside Gym. He's best known as Ippo Makunouchi's fourth title challenger—and notably, he was the first opponent to figure out how to break Ippo's signature Dempsey Roll, marking the beginning of the Rising Saga. After hanging up his gloves, Shimabukuro returned to his roots working as a fisherman.
