Dark Schneider is the world's most powerful sorcerer—he nearly conquered the entire planet before the Grand Priest Geo trapped him inside a young boy's body. That boy is Rushe, a quiet, gentle guy who happens to share Dark Schneider's soul. They're basically two personalities in one, which means they share feelings (Rushe's old crush on Yoko never really went away, and Dark Schneider feels it too), but that's where the similarities end. While Rushe is faithful and friendly, Dark Schneider is callous, cruel, and openly lustful. He's also immortal and can resurrect himself through sheer willpower alone.
The two alternate control through kissing—whenever someone kisses Yoko, Dark Schneider breaks free, and kissing Dark Schneider brings Rushe back. Dark Schneider can override this by getting angry enough to force his way out, and he can also seize control of the body during certain hours at night, temporarily regaining his magical strength in the process.
In English he's known as the Mage of Fire; Japanese sources call him the Exploder Wizard. His name is a deliberate reference to Udo Dirkschneider, vocalist of the German metal band U.D.O., and "Schneider" itself means "tailor" in German—a fitting etymology, since he can seemingly materialize clothing at will. The release spell, "Accept," is another nod to Accept, Udo's former band.
