Zodiac: Aquarius
Hikari Kohinata is the story's opening protagonist. She's a first-year student at Yumegaoka High School in class 2, though honestly she spends most of her time at the beach with her grandmother. She's seriously into diving—so much so that she wears a diver's safety whistle around her neck as basically a permanent accessory. When she's not in the water, she's probably eating tonjiru (miso pork soup), which is kind of her comfort food.
One of her quirks that stands out is her habit of coming up with nicknames for people. She's the one responsible for dubbing her classmates "Dotty" and "Cha," and she clearly enjoys it. It's the kind of thing that says a lot about how she relates to people—casual, affectionate, a bit cheeky.
