Rixia grew up in Edith, Calvard, born in S.1187 to her father, who held the title of Yin. She has no memories of her mother, and suspects her father may have raised her alone specifically to pass the title down to her eventually. He wasn't particularly warm or harsh—mostly he just trained her. As a kid traveling around Calvard, she attended local Sunday schools and made connections with all kinds of people.
Her childhood was basically nonstop training: concealed weapons, Fu Shu, the whole deal. Becoming Yin meant absorbing everything her predecessors knew and had mastered. Over time, the role started to feel less like something she was preparing for and more like something she already was. But since only one person could be the active Yin at a time, she spent her days at home perfecting her skills, waiting for her father to step aside. He never told her when that would happen.
In S.1201, her father developed an incurable disease, and that's when Rixia finally became the acting Yin. Despite being remembered as the strongest Yin in history, he couldn't fight the illness. He refused medical treatment. On his deathbed, he told Rixia the title was hers now. For the first time, she was genuinely afraid—she told him she couldn't do it alone. His response was simple: she needed to define what being Yin meant for herself.
