He's the student council president at Katagiri and basically the smartest person around—top student in the entire series, no competition. What's interesting is that he and Hori go way back; they're childhood friends. Though things weren't always smooth between them—Hori actually used to bully him back in the day, which is kind of a wild dynamic given where they ended up.
