He's the leader of the Human Debris—trafficked boys conscripted into CGS. Thrown into life-or-death situations from childhood, Akihiro became cold, withdrawn, and cliquish as a defense mechanism. That said, he's known for his single-mindedness and remarkable resilience.
Akihiro's piloting is second only to Mikazuki's, and he's survived the Alaya-Vijnana System surgery twice, which is no small feat. He takes point during dangerous operations and has a friendly rivalry with Mikazuki that keeps things interesting between them. What really sets him apart, though, is his obsession with physical training—he's constantly working out, making him by far the fittest and strongest member of Tekkadan. His hand-to-hand combat skills outside a mobile suit remain a mystery since he's never needed to fight that way.
Everything changed when Tekkadan started treating him as a person rather than just a weapon. His relationships with the group deepened significantly, and he eventually came to see them as family and the organization as home. The other members respect him as a reliable older brother and field leader.
