Sacred Gear: Divine Dividing (Longinus)
Vali Lucifer leads the Vali Team within the Khaos Brigade and is best known as Issei's direct rival—the other wielder of a Longinus Sacred Gear. He's a descendant of the original Lucifer and hosts Albion, the Vanishing Dragon, through his Divine Dividing ability.
His backstory is rough: his parents abandoned him early on, viewing him as a monster. Azazel found the kid wandering and brought him into the Underworld to raise and train him there. That relationship would later become complicated when Vali eventually betrayed Azazel to join the Khaos Brigade.
Vali first showed up in volume 3 to take down Kokabiel on Azazel's orders, but his real introduction to the main cast came in volume 4 during peace treaty negotiations between the Three Factions. He fought Issei then, initially dismissing him based on his background alone—until Issei managed to push him back without even going all out. The fight got cut short when Bikou appeared and called for Vali's retreat, but the encounter clearly stuck with him. Vali became genuinely interested in Issei after that.
His Sacred Gear is a powerhouse. Divine Dividing works opposite to Issei's Boosted Gear: instead of doubling power, it halves whatever it touches and lets Vali absorb that drained strength for himself. He used this to brutal effect against Kokabiel. The gear also has a Balance Breaker form called Divine Dividing Scale Mail—basically white armor with dragon wings, mirroring Issei's setup. There's also a "Half Dimension" ability that can shrink objects and living things down.
By volume 12, Vali unlocked the Empireo Juggernaut Overdrive, a silver-armored form that doesn't drain his lifespan the way normal Juggernaut Drive does. In this state, he can use "Compression Divider," an amped-up version of Half Dimension that repeatedly halves a target until they vanish completely.
Beyond the Sacred Gear, Vali has serious demonic reserves from his Lucifer bloodline. This lets him fuel Juggernaut Drive through raw power instead of sacrificing his life—though extended use will push him toward going berserk. He's also a quick study with magic; he picked up Norse Magic in a surprisingly short time.
