Takamaru comes from an unconventional ninja lineage. His grandfather was originally an undercover ninja, but the family lost contact with their employers so completely that they basically forgot they were ninjas at all—technically making them fugitives once someone finally tracked them down. By that point, Takamaru's father had moved on to become a famous "charisma hairdresser" and was grooming Takamaru to take over the salon business instead. When the family's ninja past resurfaced, though, it was decided Takamaru would enroll in Ninjutsu Academy to carry on the tradition after all.
He's incredibly popular with women around town, which has occasionally led to problems with overzealous fans.
