One of the nineteen progenitor vampires—basically vampire royalty. As a progenitor, he was massively stronger than your average vampire, let alone humans.
Mel's main claim to fame is how close he came to actually killing Guren. His squad reported that he nearly took Guren down eight separate times during their fights. The encounters were brutal enough that Guren had to bring in reinforcements, deploying at least two full squads for their next offensive against the vampire noble. It took that kind of force for Guren to finally defeat him.
