Amayo is Michiru Tsuki's ex-wife and Hikaru's mother. She reunites with Hikaru after he returns from traveling the world, though she has trouble recognizing how much weight Michiru has gained in the meantime. When she finally sees him, the two get into a heated argument—she's frustrated that he keeps trying to win her over with expensive gifts when there's something far more meaningful he's missing. The clash makes it clear what's really been bothering her all along. It's only after Ishidate's defeat that Michiru finally understands what she was trying to tell him: that protecting the people you care about matters infinitely more than money or material things.
