Komushi was a young shinobi from Sunagakure who served primarily as a messenger between Chiyo and her grandson Sasori during the reign of the Third Kazekage. The two had a solid working relationship.
Things took a dark turn when Komushi was wounded during a border-patrol mission and lost an arm. Sasori replaced it with a puppet limb—a sign of things to come. Later, Komushi accidentally ingested some of Sasori's poison and died while Chiyo desperately tried to save him. His final wish was that Sasori wouldn't be held responsible for what was ultimately his own mistake. Chiyo's grief was overwhelming, and she begged Sasori to bring her son back. Sasori complied by converting Komushi into a human puppet, preserving him in that form.
