Hasshaku-san
Hasshaku-san started out as a straightforward urban legend—basically a ghost story that circulated online. But her story got way more interesting when she showed up in the Toshi Densetsu Series, where she's reimagined as a goddess with a pretty specific purpose: turning young men into adults. Thing is, she ended up fading into obscurity over time, which is kind of ironic given what she was supposed to do.
