Paul Verlaine is an artificial life-form created by the French researcher Pan, originally designated Black No. 12 during his time under Pan's control. He was eventually trained as a French spy by Arthur Rimbaud, who became his partner.
Verlaine's main ability is gravity manipulation, which he inherited from being the original host of the singularity beast Demonic Beast Guivre. He built a brutal reputation using this power as an assassin, earning the title King of Assassins.
