Lan Jingyi is a Lan Clan disciple who's basically the walking contradiction of his own rules. He's got a short fuse and genuinely can't stand people who break protocol or make a racket—which makes it pretty funny that he turns into a loudmouth himself the second he gets angry. That said, he's got a solid heart. He'll throw down for his friends without hesitation, and that's proven by the fact that he eventually warmed up to Wei Wuxian despite initially writing him off for being reckless and chaotic.
His closest bonds are with Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling. The three of them have that kind of tight-knit friendship where they actually have each other's backs, which is probably what keeps Jingyi from becoming entirely insufferable about his rule-following streak.
