Lan Sizhui is a junior disciple of the Gusu Lan Sect who's known for being respectful and level-headed—he basically acts as the de facto leader of the younger disciples. What stands out most about him is how he treats everyone the same, whether they're his peers or someone like Wei Wuxian pretending to be the unhinged Mo Xuanyu. He doesn't judge, and he's got a conscience; he genuinely felt bad about the deaths and injuries caused by the Demonic Left Arm.
Fans often note his perceptiveness. When everyone else accepted "Mo Xuanyu" at face value, Sizhui picked up on something being off and mentioned it to Lan Wangji. He was also the one who realized the arm seemed to be targeting the Lan Clan specifically, which turned out to be spot-on.
Beyond just following the rules, Sizhui seems to think for himself. He suspected Wei Wuxian might've been more complicated than his reputation suggested before he even knew who the guy actually was—which says something about his willingness to question the cultivation world's black-and-white morality.
That said, he's still a teenager. He's not above losing his cool in a fight (like when he and a hundred other juniors got trapped in the Demon-Slaughtering Cave) or telling a small lie to save face. He's also got this hangup about admitting when he's scared, mostly because he worries Lan Wangji would disapprove.
