Yuuto is a first-year literature student and guitarist for Argonavis, the band he leads. He's known for his infectious enthusiasm and unwavering belief that the band will make it big someday—that someday he'll prove himself to his family. His whole philosophy boils down to "you won't know unless you try," and that kind of baseless confidence is what keeps him pushing forward as the band's leader.
That said, there's a real contradiction in him. Behind all that optimism lies serious self-doubt about his own guitar abilities. He's come dangerously close to quitting Argonavis more than once, convinced he's holding the band back and that they'd be better off with literally anyone else as their guitarist.
He comes from money and status in Hakodate—his father's a university professor, and his brothers are doctors and lawyers. There was always an implicit expectation he'd follow suit, but he never quite measured up to them, and that gap ate at him. Rather than try to compete on their turf, he decided to forge his own path through music instead.
His first real band experience came in high school, though it didn't end well. He played with someone named Nayuta, but things fell apart when Nayuta's ego and controlling nature clashed with the rest of the group's values. When Yuuto got to university, he teamed up with Wataru to start fresh with Argonavis.
