This character first showed up on August 26, 2005, working as a staff member at Futaba Kindergarten. At 22, he was a trainee teacher for the Sunflower Class—known for his over-the-top, passionate approach to instruction that initially rubbed the kids the wrong way, though they eventually warmed up to him.
His defining trait is literal: he's a mutant who can burst into flames whenever he wants, which is basically his whole thing. His name plays on "atsukurushii zo!" (暑苦しいぞ！), Japanese slang for "it's sweltering!"—fitting, given the fire thing. In the Funimation dub, he goes by The Flamer. Beyond teaching, he also coaches recess.
