Chapel is one of the top assassins in the Eye of Michael, a cult of killers devoted to Plants and Knives. Nobody knows his real name—he's only ever called Chapel or Master C. He's known for training some seriously dangerous fighters, including Nicholas the Punisher, Livio the Double Fang, and Razlo the Tri-Punisher of Death.
Chapel was originally supposed to join the Gung-Ho Guns, an elite crew of assassins. That never happened because Nicholas D. Wolfwood shot him and left him paralyzed from the waist down. Wolfwood's plan was cold: take Chapel's spot in the Gung-Ho Guns, infiltrate the group, and kill Knives from the inside. Chapel never got over the betrayal.
