Hikiko was Aiko's mother and Asako's daughter. The two had moved to Mejiro Villa after Hikiko lost her husband, as a favor from the owner's son to Asako. After Asako dies, the stress causes Hikiko to break down more often, and she begins beating Aiko. Hikiko perished in the fire that engulfed Mejiro Villa when Aiko was 7 years old.
