Anju comes across as graceful and modest most of the time, but she's got a ruthless streak that shows up in combat—she's every bit as fierce as anyone else in Spearhead. She and Kaie like messing with Kurena about her obvious crush on Shin, which gives you a sense of her mischievous side.
She's not great at letting people see what she's really feeling. Shin noticed this during the fireworks—she broke down crying, which showed how much she keeps bottled up. The same goes for her past. She's deliberately grown out her hair and avoids exposing her body around the other girls, trying to hide the scars from what she's been through before joining the squadron.
