Souji's just your average high school guy—except for one thing: he's absolutely obsessed with twintails. His whole world changes when a girl named Twoearle shows up out of nowhere, dropping the news that monsters are suddenly everywhere and he's apparently the only guy capable of wielding Tail Gear. She hands him one and tells him to transform into Tail Red and fight back.
It's not exactly the kind of responsibility most teenagers ask for, but Souji doesn't really get a choice in the matter.
