Inagaki works as a detective for the Kanagawa Prefecture Police, holding the rank of sergeant. He's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder about his superior, Toshikazu Chiba—who's younger than him but outranks him. What really gets under his skin is that Chiba has no problem bending or breaking the rules to get results. Inagaki doesn't let Chiba forget the age difference between them, and he's pretty vocal about it whenever they clash.
