Natsume Yuujinchou - Youkai Encounters
Hishigaki and Karikage were a pair of youkai that had been pursuing Natsume for some time. Things came to a head when Natsume stumbled upon a shrine where Madara—a powerful youkai—had been sealed away. Once Natsume discovered the Book of Friends, he was able to return Karikage's name, which should have resolved their conflict. In the anime adaptation, though, things played out differently: Madara intervened and chased Karikage off, defeating them in the process.
