Rikuo's one of those guys who graduated but never quite figured out what to do with his life. He's genuinely talented at photography—it's his real passion—but he just hasn't found the drive to actually turn it into a career. Instead, he works part-time at a convenience store to cover rent and bills, which is pretty much a holding pattern at this point.
What's worth noting is that he's had a thing for Shinako since their university days. It's the kind of long-standing crush that's probably shaped more of his life than he'd like to admit.
