A third-year student at Kaijou Academy, he's Mari's older brother and basically the reason she got into quizzes in the first place. Ironically, he's since stepped away from competing himself—mostly because he's buried in university entrance exam prep. Even more ironic is that he apparently can't stand quiz competitions, despite being the one who pulled Mari into them. He watches her enthusiasm with what seems less like pride and more like barely concealed annoyance.
